About the Journal

As of January 1, 2012, beginning with Volume 14, "Ekologija i zaštita na životnata sredina" has been renamed to "Macedonian Journal of Ecology and Environment (MJEE)". At the same time, cover design was modernized and the page format is now the common sub A4 format, showing a superior layout. MJEE provides platform for international scientific community to publish advances in ecological and environmental sciences.

One key request of researchers across the world is unrestricted access to research publications. Open access gives a worldwide audience larger than any subscription-based journal and increases the visibility and impact of published work. It also enhances indexing, retrieval power and eliminates the need for permissions to distribute content. MJEE will provide free access to all articles as soon as they are published. Publishing in MJEE is free of charge.

MJEE publishes original research papers in all aspects of ecology and environmental sciences. Both, theoretical and experimental papers will be considered for publication. Studies in ecology may concern both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, plant and animal communities, interactions between organisms and their environment and biogeography. Original research in environmental sciences may concern environmental degradation and pollution (air, water, soil), sustainable development, natural resources management, agroecology, geoecology, risk/hazard assessment, toxicology, waste management, environmental protection, environmental radioactivity, environmental legislation, environmental management and environmental education. Papers describing solely technological or industrial processes are not to be considered.

The Macedonian Journal of Ecology and Environment (MJEE) is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal published in two issues per year by Macedonian Ecological Society. The journal publishes texts from all fields of ecology and environmental research, in their respecitve categories.

Original scientific papers report unpublished results of completed original scientific research. Reviews should be critical surveys of an area in which the author himself is active. The reviews can be longer than typical research articles. Short communications should contain briefly presented results of original scientific research.
