Categorization of the important caves in the Republic of Macedonia

As a result of the speleological researches in Republic of Macedonia it was made a categorization of the important caves on the basis of their natural characteristics: approach, length, morphology, hydrography, speleothems - cave's ornaments, recent fauna and paleonthologycal investigations. On the base of this categorization, caves were divided in four groups: caves - natural rarities (5 caves), extraordinary important caves (3), important caves (8) and remarkable caves (9).
